Thank you for choosing SmartCast Remote TV ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we manage your information. This Privacy Policy explains how SmartCast Remote TV collects, uses, protects, and handles your information, especially in relation to permissions required for device discovery and casting features, as well as advertising services.
Information We Collect
A. Information Collected for App Functionality (Local Only)
SmartCast Remote TV operates primarily on your local network. We do NOT upload your personal files, cast media, or screen content to any external server.
Information processed locally includes:
- Local Network Info: IP addresses of your phone and TV for connection purposes.
- Device Names: To identify TVs on your Wi-Fi network.
- Media Selection: Temporary URIs of photos/videos you select to cast.
B. Information Collected for Advertising Services
To support the free version of our app, we work with third-party advertising partners who may collect certain information from your device. This information is collected only with your consent (where required by law) and includes:

Permissions We Require
To deliver our casting and remote control features, SmartCast Remote TV requires the following permissions:
1. Network & Wi-Fi Access
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
Purpose: Essential for connecting your mobile device to your TV over the local network. Also used to load advertisements and process in-app purchases.
2. Device Discovery
CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE
Purpose: Allows the app to scan and discover compatible TVs (Samsung, LG, Roku, Chromecast, etc.) on your Wi-Fi network using standard discovery protocols.
3. Google Advertising ID (`AD_ID`)
Purpose: Allows our advertising partners to collect the Google Advertising ID for personalized advertising. Required by Google Play policy for apps with ads.
4. In-app Billing
com.android.vending.BILLING
Purpose: Securely process purchases if you choose to upgrade to the Premium (Ad-free) version.
Note on Storage: SmartCast Remote TV uses the Android system Photo Picker to let you select media for casting. We do NOT require full storage access permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) to function, ensuring your privacy.
Our Advertising Partners
We work with the following leading advertising partners to keep this application free:
Google AdMob
AdMob may collect and use personal information such as device ID, IP address, and app activity for personalizing ads and preventing fraud.
AppLovin
AppLovin uses AI-powered technology to deliver relevant ads. They may collect device make/model, IP Address, Advertising IDs, and ad interaction data.
IronSource
IronSource is a mediation platform that may collect device identifiers and ad event data to improve ad relevance.
Liftoff
Liftoff helps us reach users and may collect device info and advertising IDs for personalization.
Meta Audience Network
Meta Ads may be displayed within our app according to their advertising standards.
Consent for Advertising (GDPR)
For Users in EU, UK, and Switzerland:
We use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect your consent.
- Transparency: We request consent before showing personalized ads.
- Control: You can manage your preferences in the app settings.
- Choice: You can choose to accept or reject personalized advertising.

Manage Advertising Preferences
- Android Settings: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > "Reset advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
- In-App: Use the "Privacy Settings" option within the app to update your consent choices.

Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we collect.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
